The Centre-Val de Loire Region was present in force at the Viva Technology fair, held in Paris from 15 to 17 June 2017, with a network of startups and researchers specialising in digital technology applied to promotion of heritage and tourism, and major heritage sites committed to development of the digital tools of tomorrow’s world.

The Centre-Val de Loire Region’s space at  VivaTech hosted the following startups and technologies:

  • HistoPad (Chambord), whichprovides visitors with an immersive experience, whisking them back to the days of Francis I with eight of the Château’s rooms entirely recreated in 3D virtual reality.
  • Intelligence des Patrimoines , an interdisciplinary university research programme focusing on innovation, training and promotion in the field of heritage.
  • Flagtown (Montlouis-sur-Loire), a service making use of connected terminals to help visitors discover all the region’s many aspects.
Opitrip (Orleans), a platform designed to help private individuals compare travel services on offer.
  • Ulysse Solutions (Tours), a data-viewing interface enabling tourist destinations to measure the impact of their marketing actions.

1519 - 2019 The Renaissance continues...

On 15 June 2017, François Bonneau announced the launch of a work programme with highpoints and major projects, to be carried out up until 2020 in the Loire Valley and in collaboration with Italy. He also announced and presented the support to be lent to the initiative by Stéphane Bern, who will be acting as an ambassador for the 500th anniversary of the Renaissance in Centre-Val de Loire.

2019 will mark the 500th anniversary of the laying of the first stone of the Royal Château of Chambord, Leonardo da Vinci’s death at Château du Clos Lucé in Amboise and the birth of Catherine de’ Medici.

At the end of May, François Bonneau led a delegation to Rome made up of representatives of major cultural and heritage sites, with a view to promoting the Centre-Val de Loire Region and the riches, culture, assets, heritage and creativity that have shaped its identity and attractiveness.
